AFC Energy announces its interim results for the six months ended 30 April 2008

AFC Energy plc (AIM: AFC), the low-cost alkaline fuel cell company that generates clean electricity from by-product hydrogen, today announces it has raised gross proceeds of £4.4 million by way of a placing by Blue Oar Securities of new ordinary shares to UK investors.

Dr Amitava Roy, who joined AFC Energy in April 2006, gained a PhD from Loughborough University in July for his thesis entitled ‘Dynamic and transient modeling of electrolysers and fuel cells for renewable power operation’.
